Amrit Bista is a Nepal-based entrepreneur, ecosystem builder, and advocate for promoting Nepali products and enterprises in global markets. With a Bachelor’s degree in Electronics and Communication Engineering and a Master’s degree in Project and Business Management from Australia, Amrit combines technical knowledge with business leadership to drive innovation and economic development.
After completing his higher education in Australia and returning to Nepal in 2016, he became actively involved in social organizations and community initiatives focused on creating meaningful social impact. The COVID-19 pandemic further reinforced his vision of strengthening Nepal’s local economy and supporting homegrown enterprises.
Motivated by this mission, Amrit co-founded Saino Marketplace, a platform dedicated to connecting Nepali artisans, producers, and entrepreneurs with broader markets. Recognizing the need for a stronger entrepreneurial ecosystem, he also established Mauri Ventures, an organization focused on supporting startups, innovation, and enterprise development in Nepal.
Through his extensive engagement with Nepal’s pashmina and wool sectors, Amrit identified significant opportunities to enhance international market access for Nepali products. He currently contributes to the growth of the industry through his role in Castello Cashmere Industries as Business Development Lead and serves as Country Director of Lomanthang, an Australia-registered company dedicated to promoting premium Nepali products, particularly pashmina, in international markets.
Amrit also serves on the board of the Woollen Development Association, where he works to strengthen Nepal’s wool ecosystem through research, collaboration, and industry development. His work is driven by a long-term vision of positioning Nepal as a globally recognized source of high-quality, ethically produced wool and pashmina products while creating sustainable opportunities for local artisans and producers.
